AMAP -Approved Medication Administration Personnel

This course certifies trainees to administer medications in OPWDD-funded residential and day programs. 

 

Course includes:

 

  • Responsibilities of AMAP certification 

  • Common medications 

  • Side effects

  • Rights and responsibilities of administering medication 

  • Measurement of vital signs, and common abbreviations used in the medical field

 

Trainees must attend each day and must score 80% on exams.  Final Certification follows successful demonstration of skills at trainee's agency, supervised by agency nurse. 

 

All trainees should have an AMAP text book for their own use. Agencies can purchase AMAP books at an additional fee.

 

Price includes all materials with the exception of AMAP books, which may be purchased separately or provided by the agency.
 

  • Number of Days:   4

  • Number of Participants*:  15-20    

 

*Under certain circumstances, agencies having less that 15 participants can receive customized on-site training
